Takin’ out the trash

If you had asked young Anna what she wanted to be when she grew up, without hesitation she would have replied: A marine biologist. I was fascinated by the ocean and ocean life. I loved to read and watch videos about fish and especially marine mammals. There is something so beautiful and alien about the world of the ocean and I, to this day, can identify most fish in an aquarium and my netflix recommendations lean heavily toward the undersea documentary. Some of them break my heart. The amount of damage that has been caused to our oceans due to trash and global warming is alarming. Our oceans are what sustain us. The earth needs them healthy to remain hospitable and there are so many unique life forms supported by the oceanic environment. I was so excited to see the following video, and see an idea that may actually make an impact in the health of our oceans that I had to share right away. So here, in this hasty blog post, find a video about a pretty cool idea that actually works!

For my oceanically inclined friends, I suggest you check out this link: SHARKS to see what Ocearch has created. It is a shark tracker, and it is awesome. Want to know where Mary Lee, a great white off the Atlantic coast of the US is today? YOU CAN FIND HER through their awesome Shark Tracker. Hours of fun. promise.
